What: COMMUNITY SOUP KITCHEN. - Parish volunteers travel to downtown Morristown’s Community Soup Kitchen located in the Church of the Redeemer to set up, serve and clean up after serving a hot lunch to the underprivileged. The Soup Kitchen operates 365 days a year and has fed lunch to up to 200 people daily.
Who it benefits: the underprivileged in the Morristown area.
When it happens: the second Thursday every month.
Time commitment: approximately 4 hours (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)

What: EVA’S KITCHEN. SVM volunteers make casseroles and deliver them to the parish on a designated date then the same or another group of volunteers delivers these to Eva’s Kitchen in Paterson. They then serve lunch to sometimes more than 200 people and also distribute donated items to the needy in attendance (such as socks, gloves, hats and scarves, the latter often being knit by our parish knitters’ group).
Who it benefits: The underprivileged in Paterson.
When it happens: One specified weekend during the Christmas season.
Time commitment: varies from a couple of hours to up to 4-5 hours.
