We welcome all parishioners to share their talents with our parish during the sacred liturgies.
Membership: Our Parish considers for membership to liturgical ministry an individual who meets the following qualifications:
Readers are lay people who have received instruction and training and are commissioned by the parish to help in proclaiming the readings during the Liturgy of the Word.
Lectors/Readers: As proclaimers of the Word of God within the assembly gathered for the Celebration of the Eucharist on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, lectors have an integral part in the Liturgy of the Word. At St. Vincent's we invite all of our young people to also participate in this special minister.
Parent-Child Lectors: At St. Vincent's we welcome families to prepare the Readings for Sunday liturgy together and then to proclaim the Readings together at our Family Masses. Children must be in Grade 4 or higher. All Students in our Confirmation program can proclaim the Readings at Sunday liturgies and at special Masses throughout the year.
Ministers sign-up to read at Christmas, Holy Week, Easter and Holy Days but are assigned to the regular schedule of masses on a rotating basis.

In order to serve as a Minister of Holy Communion, one must be fully initiated in the Catholic Church, i.e. having received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
Extra-Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist are lay people who have received instruction and training and are commission by the parish to help in the distribution of the body and blood of Jesus Christ, during the Communion Rite in Liturgy.

Ministering to the eucharist to those who are homebound is an important part of our parish life. Ministers need to be ministers of Holy Communion who are willing to share their time and themselves with those parishioners who are not able to be with us.
